ㅤThe Perfect Soldier :ㅤ Founded on the belief that power is born from knowledge, the Garlean Empire sought perfection of both machine and man. Thus was born Unit 09, an experimental unit of the Ist Legion, charged with reshaping flesh and mind through conditioning, trials, and augmentation, all in pursuit of building the perfect soldier.

Vox Dominus is a heavy story-focused Garlean roleplay group. Our aim is to explore the dark side of the Imperial Empire and it's beliefs. Our characters are frequently written as complex villains or products of the regime, exploring themes of military indoctrination, imperial propaganda and brainwashing, and fantasy science. Think cold-war-isque, Winter Soldier/Black Widow themes. We place heavy emphasis on character development stories and long-term narrative arcs.

Vox is a villain group, and for that reason we place heavy emphasis on IC/OOC separation. We want good people playing bad guys - not the other way around. Sensitive themes that are allowed to be explored in fiction, does not translate to IRL.

Purebloods and non-purebloods who are loyal to the Empire and refuse to surrender to Eorzeans may be drawn to Vox's ideals. (Loyalists need not only be combatants: citizens, political players, viceroys and others are also welcome)

Unit 09's talent is not limited to Garlean scientists and magitek engineers. Sharlayan scholars looking to who are looking to pursue research (forbidden or otherwise) without red tape may be drawn to the divison.
Former military
Prior to the collapse of the Empire, the Ith Legion had attempted to coordinate reclamation of the Capital with other surviving Legions. Those who respond to the calls in the current day may find Vox in the Legion's place.
Subject
Prisoners of war, conscripts of annexed territories, and slaves of any other name are considered 'resources' for Unit 09's scientific pursuits. Subjects are given a serial number that marks them: 09-XXX, and are used for experimentation.
Mercenary | Criminal
Vox's current operations are veered towards reclaimation of territory, resources, and people - usually via forceful means. They are known to employ mercenaries that are willing to get their hands dirty.

OOC
With the abundance of politician characters joining our ranks, we have opened a new avenue for political intrigue based roleplay. Think Game of Thrones mixed with Cold War era political thrillers and assassination movies. To avoid conflicting with MSQ canon events, we have situated this storyline within a secondary city north of the Capital. The Aeterna storyline serves as a sandbox for writers to explore the brutal realities of life under an authoritarian regime, as well as the high-stakes political games played between powerful noble families.
Requirements for Senator OCs
To maintain a realistic and immersive experience for our players, Senator OCs must be either Pureblood Garleans.
Other races are still welcome to participate in the political roleplay without holding a Senate seat. Senators are generally permitted one political aide of their choice, with no racial restrictions.
Petitioners, expert witnesses for trials, clerks, lictors and bodyguards, assassins, spies, and members of the secret police (frumentarius) have no racial restrictions.
Our players are here to create an immersive experience. Many of us write both sides of the story with both a pureblood Garlean character and a non-Garlean character.
